Would you tell me how to polinate your zuchinis? I've two pumpkin plants, there are tons of male flowers, but only one female flower. I
need to polinate the flowers myself.

ChiChinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-872247640329823856.post-7618555519120187312008-07-30T00:10:19.000-07:002008-07-30T00:10:19.000-07:00Sure I'll tell what I did. And acually I hand polinated cucumbers not zuchinis, but my guess is it's similar.

I found a male flower (one without a fruit pod behind it) and removed it and brushed it into and around the female flowers.I tried to get inside all of them but some were closed. I figured it couldn't hurt to try those too. Lastly I hope you can use a different variety to polinats. I couldn't find but one male.

Frankly for a male, he sure looked like a very cut flower. My son loves yellow hehe.

Correct me if I'm wrong please.Sinfoniannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-872247640329823856.post-63751422377604542762008-07-30T02:25:05.000-07:002008-07-30T02:25:05.000-07:00Yes, when to harvest the beans? But if you're too early, you're eating a pod that could have been bigger and just as tasty. Experience plays a part in this, you learn by trial and error. If you see large swellings where the beans are forming, then it's likely late. Still, you'll have to do your own experimentation.Tim Stoehrnoreply@blogger.com
