Rain rain go away... I know we wanted rain, but this is ridiculous! We're pushing 1.5 inches in the last 12 hours! Yikes! Thank goodness for Mel's Mix. My plants don't mind and the dirt's draining like a charm. Of course my storm drain is almost overflowing but it's handled worse.
Unfortunately I'll need to reapply my parasites in a day or so. I didn't stick around out there in the downpour to see if there were more holes, but I expect there will be until the parasites can grow and do their thing.
I had planned on picking up the half yard of compost to go with the 2 bags of REALLY expensive vermiculite I bought yesterday (I paid double what I bought the rest of mine for from that wholesaler). I just couldn't see going all the way out to Snohomish to get two bags. Especially at these gas prices. /sigh. Anyway, the rain is holding off the project so my potatoes will grow higher than 4 inches (more like 6-8) before I can cover them.
Oh, I don't think I've shared my blueberry update. I left a clump of white bell-like flowers on the strongest cane to test out the bushes. I had fun watching the bumble bees go from the blooming rosemary to the bells to the lavender and back again, polinating everything.
YAY! Well, look at what I've got...
BLUEBERRIES!
Hehe, enjoy your garden while mine enjoys the water.
Thanks for the inspiration. Curious, though. What you call blooming rosemary looks like what they sell around here as "Spanish lavender." FWIW
