This will be my last post... April Fools... I love gardening too much to let that happen and with all the positive feedback from novice gardeners and experienced folks alike, I will keep this going for the foreseeable future.
Well, today is our unofficial Last Spring Frost Date (LSF)! So to celebrate, Mother Nature left a blanket of FROST on the ground today. GRRRRRRR. Well, at least it heated up enough that my family and I went for our 3.5 mile power walk before dinner tonight.
I can't wait for this weekend. I just don't have the time to dismantle everything I did with my family commitments until then, but I really want to take pictures and share how well my garden has fared when it's been protected from our cold spell. This is the second day I've had to lift the frames and mist under them.
As of now, the only seeds not to sprout yet are the carrots, but I understand they take forever. Let's hope they're growing down as we speak...
For my indoor seeds (both of them), only the cauliflower has sprouted. I kind of think I washed away the broccoli seed (oops). So I think I'll plant another seed and separate the pots so I can move the cauliflower to the garage window (full sun but cool weather, kinda like outside without the wind). That's my first step in hardening off the seedling. Kinda nice now that the weather's better. It's about the same temps inside my garage as outside right now, just not as cold at night. Remember when it was horrible for seedlings? I think it will work wonderfully now.
No post for tomorrow (likely) as we have tickets for the theatre. I love musicals and Village Theatre in Issaquah and Everett is some of the very best live regional theater in the Puget Sound area! We're lucky enough to have amazing season tickets thanks to my MIL.

ReplyDeleteIf I were you, I'd keep a plastic sheet ready to throw over those potatoes.
